Pet Blessing & Fall Fun Festival 2017 – Alison’s Blog

GRCC’s annual Pet Blessing and Fall Fun Festival took place this past Sunday, October 29. Though it was a cold afternoon, many people came by with their pets to enjoy hot soup, fall fun activities, trunk or treating, and some great fellowship! We had in attendance both church members and people from the local community

– I was actually very surprised by how many faces I didn’t recognize! It made me proud that our church is a place that people feel comfortable coming to visit. Let’s keep showing our guests hospitality and being a warm and welcoming place!

This event is fun and lighthearted, but it truly can not happen each year without the volunteers that help with set up, hospitality, clean up, and more. There is an extensive list of people who helped this year, and here are all of the names I can remember:

  • Laura, Cian & Ciara Rose
  • Susan Reichley
  • Chris & Renee Ayers
  • Savannah Crist and friend Chloe
  • Romig family
  • Lloyd, Sue, Brian, Braydon, and Ayla Holbrook
  • Angela Perkins and Adam
  • Davies family
  • Jim Bragg
  • Joan Short
  • Meredith Reed
  • Wendy Copado
  • Grammens family
  • Brenda & Steve Wander
  • Courtney Lichwa
  • Karen Richards
  • Rachel Roberts & Amber
  • All the kids in Sunday school (and our teachers) who helped make special Halloween treats for the event!

The people on this list helped out in a number of different ways – from setting up to getting supplies together to cleaning up to decorating trunks and bringing soup, and more. If I missed your name, I truly apologize – in the organized chaos of Sunday’s event, I could easily have missed someone who was quietly but effectively doing great work!

Thank you to all who came out and helped make a great afternoon. There are so many different fall activities and opportunities for kids to wear their costumes and get candy, but by coming to the church’s event you should a willingness to fellowship with your church community! We are all stronger when we support and build one another up as a church – thank you for doing your part!
